Job Description
Eleven Media is looking for a Video Editor who can produce high-quality short-form and long-form content. The selected candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, following US news and politics, and responding promptly when major stories develop.
The role requires strong storytelling ability, excellent pacing, attention to editorial accuracy, and the ability to create platform-specific edits for digital and social-media audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short-form and long-form videos from raw footage through final delivery.
- Work with producers and editors on story structure, pacing, context, and visual flow.
- Select and edit footage, soundbites, music, graphics, captions, transitions, and sound design.
- Create multiple versions of videos for different platforms, formats, durations, and aspect ratios.
- Follow the company’s editorial voice, visual identity, and quality standards.
- Use approved visual assets and maintain proper attribution.
- Handle feedback and revisions while delivering polished videos on time.
- Review audience-retention data and viewer feedback to improve future video edits.
- Stay updated on current affairs, political developments, platform trends, competitor content, and creative tools.
- Communicate clearly with producers, editors, and cross-functional teams.
- Support major and breaking-news coverage, including occasional evening or weekend work when required.
Eligibility Criteria and Skills
- Strong experience in editing both short-form and long-form digital videos.
- A portfolio or showreel demonstrating storytelling, pacing, clarity, and audience engagement.
- Proficiency in professional video-editing software.
- Experience editing interviews, speeches, news footage, voiceovers, archive footage, music, graphics, and captions.
- Strong interest in politics, elections, public policy, international affairs, and current events.
