Job Description
As a Software Engineer at Cisco in Bangalore, you will work on designing, developing, and improving scalable software solutions that power next-generation networking and enterprise technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to the full software development lifecycle, and help deliver high-quality, reliable, and secure products for Cisco’s global customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software components and features as part of an agile team.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define technical requirements and solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and test frameworks to ensure software quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production and pre-production environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, C, or C++.
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, or distributed systems is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with version control (Git), SDLC, and agile development practices.
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with microservices, REST APIs, or cloud-native development.
- Exposure to containers, Docker, Kubernetes, or related technologies.
- Knowledge of automation, test frameworks, and CI/CD tools.
- Interest in networking, security, and large-scale distributed systems.
