Causeway Software Engineer recruitment 2026 is open for experienced developers who want a fully remote job in India. In this role you will join an AI-first engineering team reporting to the Engineering Lead, and your work will cover automated and manual testing, code development and deployment – with a strong focus on preventing issues before they reach customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, test and debug technical solutions with a strong quality assurance focus.
- Provide product support for legacy technologies while helping move products towards modern web platforms.
- Write clean, well-designed, documented and commented code following engineering best practices.
- Estimate effort accurately and deliver work within agreed schedules.
- Collaborate with the team on specification, design and development of new features.
- Identify deficiencies in existing processes and implement practical improvements.
- Take part in code reviews and pair programming sessions.
- Work with the security team to make sure data protection standards are met.
- Contribute to AI-first development practices using modern AI tooling.
- Keep skills current with emerging trends and propose efficiency and productivity improvements.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Java or Microsoft C#.
- Good understanding and practical experience of SQL.
- Working knowledge of APIs and REST.
- Experience writing unit tests.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar.
- Knowledge of quality standards and software engineering best practices.
- Experience working in Agile or Kanban delivery teams.
- Ability to identify technical risks and propose solutions, with strong attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with JavaScript, Angular or Knockout.
- Awareness of Google Kubernetes Engine, GCP, Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with AWS.
- Degree-level education in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
